In 2017 I joined SODA as an architectural assistant and worked on several projects including a 50,000 sq ft conversion of an existing office block in Central London into co-working space and short-term lease office space for The Office Group, which caters for “the fastest growing and most diverse workforces in Britain: app creators and advertising agencies; makers and media companies, financiers and foodies; artists and architects; startups, entrepreneurs and freelancers.”
With a budget of £10 million, the scope of work included the conversion of existing basement parking into a gym space, the provision of a roof terrace and the internal fit-out of the building including the construction of internal partitions and decorations for a range of offices from 1-2 person studios to 60 person offices over 7 floors.
My responsibilities included producing visualizations with a focus on interior fit-out options, producing construction and detail drawings at a range of scales 1:50 - 1:2 as well as producing planning drawings. I conducted site surveys and 3d modelling for production of early schematic designs etc. I also participated in project team meetings where I presented design updates to the whole team including consultants and contractors.
